Saudi-Backed Bahraini Regime Attacks Protesters

Saudi-backed Bahraini forces have attacked anti-government protesters in the city of Sitra as tens of thousands of demonstrators demanded overthrow of the ruling regime.

Protesters poured into streets to call for an end on to the rule of Al Khalifa family in the Sheikdom. Earlier, Bahraini demonstrators took to the streets to hold a mass funeral ceremony for a young Bahraini martyred, 29-Year-old Yousef who was attacked by the regime forces in mid-March, Press TV reported.

He was martyred after he was seriously injured by Saudi-backed Bahraini regime forces and spent several months in a coma, ABNA reported.

Also during the funeral ceremony of Jawad Marhoun, "the Saudi-backed security forces used tear gas, rubber bullets and stun grenades to disperse the people," a senior member of Al-Wefaq, Bahrain's largest Shiite opposition group, Matar Matar said on Saturday, Fars News reported.

Many Bahrainis have been killed since Bahrainis' revolutionary movements started in March for achieving basic, equal rights and political freedom.
