Miles of Smiles Aid Convoy to Reach Gaza on Eid Day
The Miles of Smiles aid convoy that is heading to the Gaza Strip has arrived at the northern Sinai district, hoping to enter Gaza on Eid-ul Fitr day.
According to Ahlul Bayt News Agency the convoy reached Sainai Monday afternoon. About one hundred activists from Arab and non-Arab origins are participating in the aid convoy.
Dr. Isam Yousuf, the coordinator of Miles of Smiles4 which carried aid to the Gaza Strip, said that there would be three more Gaza-bound aid convoys over the following three months. He said one of the convoys would be sent at the end of Ramadan, a second between the two Eids and a third on Eid al-Adha. This one is the first of the three promised convoys.
Gaza Strip has been reeled under Israel's oppressive blockade for the fifth year running. Israel has been preventing convoys carrying humanitarian aids enter the coastal strip.
