Syria Holds Third Day of National Dialogue

Academic and social figures from all political parties and spectrums of the society, representatives of popular and unionist activities, and also independent individuals and opposition representatives have participated in the third consecutive day of Syria's national dialogue.
"The talks dealt with enhancing the independence of national decision, preserving national sovereignty, respecting the freedom of citizen and the rule of law and building a state of institutions, justice and equality," the Syrian Arab News Agency reported.
During the three days of the national dialogue in which 350 people have attended issues concerning "youth, media, combating corruption, administrative and juridical reform and enhancing national unity," were focused on.
National dialogue sessions have been held at Damascus University and also in provinces including Quneitra, Daraa, Lattakia, Tartous, Raqqa, and Sweida.
Syria has been facing unrest in recent months and a number of people have been killed during the protests. The Syrian government says the killings have been carried out by armed gangs who tried to add to the riots. Among the killed were members of Syrian security forces.
