Russian Delegation: Syria Facing Zion-Backed Conspiracy

Members of a Russian delegation visiting Syria have acknowledged the country is facing "a massive conspiracy concocted by the world's imperialistic and Zionist forces," Syrian Arab News Agency reported.

The delegation including 23 scientists, social researchers, intellectual and academic figures and politicians expressed support for the people of Syria at the historic moment when the country's foes are plotting to destroy the stability in the country.

Andrei Filipov, the Deputy Chairman of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation Central Committee said based on their observations of the current situation in Syria they believe the country can come out of the Israeli-backed trap under the leadership of Bashar al-Assad.

Another high-ranking Russian politician pointed out that Russia's stand regarding Syria and Arab world in general was different from America's.

"Western media is distorting facts in cooperation with some Arab satellite channels… we've been watching how the events are unfolding in Syria for months and how these Arab channels are covering, particularly al-Jazeera which became the right hand of these western journalists and the western voice against the area," noted  Ylena Pekiva, reporter from a Russian newspaper .
